Romantic Fairycore Cottage The spring season is approaching, and cottagecore and fairycore home decor styles are becoming more prevalent. The two design aesthetics often overlap, making it easy to create magical interiors. This time of year (as winter slowly rolls into spring) is ideal for refreshing and breathing new life into your interiors. One room you can’t ignore is the bedroom. Did you know you spend a third of your life sleeping? And that does not include all the other activities in that space, such as dressing, reading, or working. So why not turn your bedroom into a romantic hideaway or enchanting escape from reality? This month’s challenge was to work on design inspiration for a bedroom that embraces a combination of cottage and fairy aesthetics to create a comfortable, romantic space you will never want to leave! Item 1—Butterfly Eden Oversized Grande Queen Bedspread with Butterflies, Dragonflies, and Ferns We’ll start with this gorgeous cotton bedspread (and inspiration for this mood board). The bedspread features ferns, butterflies, and dragonflies printed on an eggshell background. I love how the design embraces nature while feeling light and airy, and the scalloped edges feel nostalgic and feminine. Whether you are into fairycore, cottagecore, or both, this bedspread will look charming on your bed!  Item 2—18” Square Butterfly Eden Decorative Throw Pillow with Tie Accent The first of three decorative pillows to match the bedding is this throw pillow with butterflies and ferns on an eggshell background with an adorable bow tie in the front. The same printed design can be found on the bedspread.  Item 3—14 x 20 Butterfly Eden Butterfly Kisses Decorative Throw Pillow Another pillow that matches the bedding is this rectangular throw pillow with Butterfly Kisses and a butterfly on a moss-green background. Nothing says cottage aesthetic like butterflies!  Item 4—16” Square Pillow Butterfly Eden Decorative Throw Pillow with Butterfly Medallion The third decorative throw pillow that matches the bedding is this 16 x 16 pillow with a butterfly medallion set in a moss green and eggshell background. Use this accent pillow on the bed or a comfortable armchair to create a cohesive look.  Item 5—Victorian-Style Fleur de Lis Lace Swag Valance Pair, 75 x 38 Inches This pair of fleur de lis lace curtains with long flowing fringe has a distinctly old-fashioned look with a feminine vibe. The ivory color matches the eggshell background of the bedspread and keeps the room feeling light and airy.  Item 6—Aldora Butterfly Wall Art, Set of 3 These gold resin butterflies feel so magical! Arrange them alone or add them to other wall accents to create your ideal fairy aesthetic.  Item 7—Forever Blooms Three-Dimensional Openwork Floral Wall Art Add springtime magnolias to your decor scheme with this hand-painted metal flower wall art. The flowers and ferns are painted in subtle pastel colors, surrounded by a gold frame. The open style of this wall art makes it feel like it’s floating on your wall! Item 12—Magnolia and Butterfly Resin Sculpture Magnolias and butterflies seem to be the theme, and I couldn’t resist this resin statue with cream magnolias and monarch butterflies!  Item 13—Set of 2 Fairy Concerto Resin Figurines We couldn’t rightly say we had a fairy-themed room without fairies! It is well known that fairies love music, so this set of fairies—one playing the violin and the other the mandolin—will be that much-needed touch of magic this space is missing!  Item 14—Trento Tiffany-Inspired Art Nouveau Stained Glass Table Lamp The stained glass design on this Tiffany-style table lamp includes a cream color background with green leaves and looks perfect sitting next to the bedspread. The lamp base has a feminine flair with scrolled vines and leaves.  Item 15—Abbott Cherry Vintage-Style Accent Table with a Drawer and Three Shelves We finish this list with a nightstand that grounds the space with a darker color that still complements the style of the rest of the decor. The table has a Victorian feel—tying it in with other decorative elements—and the fluid curves are quite feminine. The Tiffany-style lamp would look perfect perched on this table!
