About the designer & di's studio designs...
Welcome to Di’s Studio Designs!
My name is Diane M. Lilly, and I am the creative human and Pennsylvania native behind this one-woman show!
Di’s Studio Designs began in earnest in 2015 as an outlet for my creative craft ideas, home decor designs, and blog writing. My little business was originally an extension of my college interior design studies, but it has since blossomed into a catch-all for all my passion projects. Along the way, I have indulged in my interests in floral design, woodworking, home decor, pencil art, photography, pyrography, and Celtic art. This journey has allowed me to rediscover lifelong loves—fairytales, castles, and nature—while exploring an inexplicable attraction to anything related to the British Isles.

The first rendition of Di’s Studio Designs included whimsical nature-inspired faux floral displays and handcrafted candleholders with wood bases. These elements remain a core theme of my online shop, where you can find one-of-a-kind designs for gifts and seasonal decor. If you have an upcoming special event, I would love to use my creative ideas to help you visualize a unique experience!
Around 2017, I discovered knotwork and Celtic art, and it’s been an absolute love affair ever since! This style of artwork has been the inspiration for a myriad of pencil drawings and wood-burned designs. As a bonus, it’s allowed me to indulge my Anglophile and Hibernophile tendencies!
I don’t only draw Celtic art. These two castle drawings were done during my college years and foreshadowed a subject that would inevitably appear in various forms later in my craft business. I say “inevitably” because the fascination with castles has been with me since I was a four-year-old child sitting on the floor playing with a fold-out castle complete with a tower and dungeon. Of all my loves, this one has stayed with me the longest!
The fascination with fairytales comes in as a close second. As a child, fairytales tapped into my sense of wonder while exposing me to life’s complex—and sometimes dark—nature. The tales of giants eating children frightened me, but I was drawn into the stories by the allure of the magical fae worlds and the whimsical illustrations that brought them to life. And now I find myself exploring techniques (thanks to my studies in art, architecture, and interior design) for building enchanted indoor fairy houses!
And as if all of these interests were not enough, I also manage a blog page! Over the past several years, my blog has taken on a life of its own, evolving from the musings of an artist to tackling seasonal home decor topics, DIY projects, art tutorials, folklore history, plant care, gardening, and recipes. There’s a little something there for everyone, so head on over to the blog page and check it out!
Visit my online shop to see my available items, or contact me for special requests. (Yes, I do those!) And don’t forget to sign up for my newsletter to stay up to date on new projects and blog articles.
